Welcome to the Freehof Institute for Progressive Jewish Law. Enter the world of Jewish law, ethics, and halakhah. We deal with contemporary Jewish issues.  Our studies combine modern scholarship with the rabbinic tradition of the Mishnah, Talmud, codes, and responsa as we deal with practical issues of daily Jewish life. Our symposia, books, and journal bring the views of a broad range of liberal Jewish scholars on major contemporary issues. 

Each publication deals with a major issue and provides the insights of important Jewish scholars to major modern problems.  This thematic approach  serves the individual reader, classes, and discussion groups.
